This student intern opportunity will focus on developing a machine learning (ML) model used to assist ground control station operators with combating Change Blindness, which is phenomenon of visual perception that occurs when a stimulus undergoes a change without this change being noticed by its observer. The ML model will be developed further from already completed prototype design. The ML Model will then be put through testing and evaluation phase before being implemented into the infrastructure of two NASA Langley Research Center aviation research laboratories. The selected intern will have the opportunity to contribute to the research publication that is to follow the completion of the Summer internship semester. An ideal candidate should have strong Python and MATLAB programming and communication skills.
